If you were already approved for a federal state extension, the State of Maine will automatically grant you a six month tax extension. If you weren't approved for a federal tax extension ,or you need to make a state tax payment you'll need to submit Maine Form 1040EXT-ME (PDF), or you make an online payment with Maine EZ Pay.

Filing for a Maine tax extension will not grant you extra time to pay any tax balance due.Your balance must be paid by April 15 to avoid possible penalties.

If you already received an approval notification from ExpressExtension, and you don't need to make a tax payment, then you're all done.
